Snowshoeing Excursion at Espot Esquí Resort!
If you don’t enjoy skiing but are drawn to the snowy mountains, snowshoeing allows you to experience the mountains in a different way.
During this activity, we will explore the beautiful and charismatic Espot Esquí Resort, located on the outskirts of Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park. We’ll enjoy aerial views as we ascend the La Roca chairlift and marvel at the snowy alpine landscape.
Excursion:
The activity begins at the base of the ski slopes at Espot Esquí Resort, at an altitude of 1500 meters. We’ll take the chairlift up to 2000 meters. From there, we have two possible itineraries:
1. Les Picardes Itinerary: A circular route around the resort, starting from the Parc Lúdic at an altitude of 2000 meters. We’ll reach La Bassa through an area known as Clots de la Bassa, where we can observe different vegetation and the impressive peak of Les Picardes, visible from a large part of the resort. This is a short and family-friendly route, perfect for beginners and families with young children. The route covers approximately 800 meters.
2. La Creu de l’Eixol Itinerary: A route around the resort, also starting from the 2000-meter level. We’ll reach La Creu de l’Eixol, a spectacular viewpoint of the Pyrenees and the adjacent valley known as Quatre Pins. This route covers about 3 – 4 kilometers with an elevation gain of 270 meters. There are no major difficulties, and the altitude is gained gradually. The route takes us through a pine forest, very close to the ski resort, reaching an altitude of 2270 meters.
